This role presents an opportunity to play a pivotal part in supervising and challenging ESG risks. As a second line of defence (2LOD) risk oversight expert, you will provide strong and effective oversight of ESG risk management across the Group.

Your responsibilities will include co-ordination of the oversight of ESG risk management, providing guidance on ESG risk matters to Group colleagues, and ensuring there are plans and processes in place to meet relevant regulatory requirements.

You will also be responsible for identifying standard methodologies in industry for risk management of ESG factors, driving identification, assessment, management and reporting on ESG related risks, and development and monitoring of ESG risk metrics.

In addition, you will prepare 2LOD insight papers on ESG risk matters, review and challenge of 2LOD papers to relevant Group committees, and implement and maintain the ESG Risk Management Framework.

You will engage with 2LOD ESG risk owners in the Group subsidiaries to ensure key risks being managed and reported on.

We are looking for someone with significant experience of leading risk in a front line or second line of defence role, ideally in ESG risk. A keen understanding of the Group's ESG commitments and the regulatory environment and expectations in relation to ESG risk matters is essential.

Experience in implementing regulatory programmes or regulatory guidelines would be a strong positive. You will also need to have strong influencing skills across 1st and 2nd line risk management, as well as be a critical thinker with strong interpretation skills.

Suitable candidates will have:
