At Hunter Savage, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the implementation and maintenance of our food safety and quality systems. This key role will ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest levels of food safety and quality across all products produced.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be an integral part of our management team, driving continuous improvement and contributing to the achievement of our business objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and maintaining food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, GMP, Pest Control, Plant Hygiene, and Internal Audits.
  • Ensuring product quality consistently meets agreed specifications and is delivered to customer expectations.
  • Managing all aspects of food safety and fostering a Quality Culture throughout the organization.
  • Collaborating closely with site management and team leaders to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Providing training to all site staff to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Leading and supporting site audits, including third-party, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Managing the hygiene department and external cleaning contractors to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
  • Planning and implementing corrective and preventive actions as required to address non-compliance or process improvements.
  • Ensuring company policies and operational standards are consistently met.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost reductions while maintaining high product quality.
  • Complying with site health and safety requirements while performing all duties.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A third-level qualification in a relevant field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a Food Safety or Quality Assurance role, ideally within a bakery or food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong auditing experience (internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits).
  • Proven experience in managing people and leading teams.
  • Flexibility and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software.
