About the Role
We are looking for a Food Safety and Quality Manager to join our team and take responsibility for leading the Food Safety & Quality team in delivering site technical compliance for all relevant customer and supplier approvals and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure site technical compliance with customer and supplier specifications, including modifying existing products and processes and developing new ones.
- Develop and implement new products and processes to improve safety and quality control procedures, and research current consumer markets and latest technologies to develop new product concepts.
- Manage the selection of raw materials and other ingredients from suppliers, prepare product costings, and audit suppliers or manage internal audits.
- Coordinate the running of trials of new products, deal with customer complaint investigations, compile and approve product specifications, and ensure clear labelling.
- Work on packaging innovation and technology, conduct experiments, and design processes and machinery for making products.
- Buuild relationships with suppliers and customers, and work with colleagues in procurement, sales, technical services, and marketing and distribution.
Requirements:
- Third Level qualification in a food-related discipline or related field.
- Experience in a Specification and Supplier Approval Technologist role or similar position within the food manufacturing industry.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, strong organisational and time-management skills, and broad knowledge of food safety and quality standards.
