The Role

This key commercial role encompasses finance, accounting, IT, and operational support. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the financial strategy of the business and supporting its continued growth, particularly in the digital space.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee Financial Control: Management of a small finance team, P&L reporting, balance sheet management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  2. Provide Strategic Financial Support: To the Managing Director to aid business decision-making and growth initiatives.
  3. Maintain Cost Control: Implement measures to enhance financial efficiency.
  4. Manage Debtor Accounts: Ensure timely collection and reconciliation.
  5. Oversee Payroll Processing: And PAYE returns for approximately 40 employees.
  6. Handle VAT Reporting: Ensure timely filing of returns.
  7. Prepare for Annual Financial Audit: Ensuring full compliance.
  8. Manage Relationships: With financial institutions, software and hardware providers, and company pension providers.
  9. Maintain and Update HR Records: Contracts, and company policies.
Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with proven experience at a senior finance level.
  • Experience in Commercial Finance Support, providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Strong Leadership and Team Management Skills.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Experience in Media, Publishing, or a Similar Fast-Paced Industry is advantageous but not essential.
