Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Distinguished Data Engineering Lead to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining critical data services using cutting-edge technologies.

About the Role

You will be responsible for architecting and designing high-reliability and high-availability data services at scale. Additionally, you will drive significant technology initiatives end-to-end and across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop large-scale distributed data systems leveraging containerization, public clouds, and data processing pipelines.
  • Evaluate and implement new open-source and cloud-native tools and technologies to enhance data quality, integrity, and availability.
  • Leverage EMR (especially Spark Streaming) and Elasticsearch to build ingestion, storage, and querying solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers pursuing technical career paths in engineering.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for owned services.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience building high-performance data ingestion software and solving concurrency, latency, and efficiency issues.
  • A strong systems engineering background with a consistent record of delivering high-quality products at scale.
  • Proficiency in Golang, Python, or Java, as well as understanding of large-scale data capture and collection systems.
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people.
