Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Assistant/Part Qualified Accountant to join our team at JJ Rhatigan & Company. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the Financial Controller in managing daily accounting operations.
  2. Collaborate with the accounts team to ensure accurate task completion.
  3. Assist in month-end and quarter-end processes.
  4. Contribute to annual budget preparation.
  5. Help manage and report business cash flow.
  6. Prepare management accounts and reports.
  7. Oversee sales and purchases ledgers, process invoices.
  8. Communicate with vendors and respond to queries.
  9. Liaise with other departments for invoice approval and resolve issues.
  10. Assist in preparing Tax returns.
  11. Perform account reconciliations.
  12. Support the Accounts department with ad-hoc duties.

Requirements

  1. Relevant degree or Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant.
  2. Highly numerate with excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  3. Accounting experience is beneficial.
  4. Familiarity with accounting software.
  5. Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  6. Ability to perform under pressure.
  7. Effective prioritisation skills.
  8. Excellent data entry and time management skills.
  9. Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  10. Proficient computer skills; Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
