This is a challenging opportunity to work on configuring, maintaining and optimizing databases to meet business needs. As a Database Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing database systems to ensure they are running efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configuring and maintaining databases according to business strategy
- Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure sufficient system resources
- Monitoring database performance and troubleshooting issues
- Applying updates to production and non-production environments
- Managing user access and permissions
- Performing regular backups and verifying restores
- Participating in Change Control processes for all planned applications and technical activities
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in a relevant field (Data Science or STEM subject) or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of the Linux operating system
- Ability to create, understand and follow processes to ensure successful execution of critical maintenance tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Epic Systems
- RDBMS Certification preferably Microsoft SQL Server
- Strong Linux administration skills, including experience with command line tools, scripting and troubleshooting
