Senior Maintenance Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Manager to join our team at a global pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, coordination, and alignment of the Maintenance team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing processes, control systems, process equipment, facilities/utilities, and critical support systems. A thorough knowledge of Maintenance execution strategies and best practices is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the Maintenance team is staffed with the appropriate skills and capabilities to meet all Site Engineering functional goals.
  • Establish an efficient Maintenance organization focusing on right first-time delivery and following industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement a lean maintenance strategy for the department, maximizing the use of digital tools and technologies.
  • Support Manufacturing Operations at all times and establish availability and reliability measures for key pieces of process equipment.
  • Develop and maintain an effective training program for technicians and engineers within the maintenance department.
  • Lead the site energy management team, focusing on reducing carbon emissions.
  • Maintain budgetary control of maintenance operational budgets, working closely with Finance.
  • Act as the primary contact for the site's insurance providers and ensure compliance with insurers' requirements.
  • Oversee safety programs and drive a safety-first culture.
  • Foster talent within the department, create development goals, and have succession plans in place.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline required.
  • 15+ years of related experience with a minimum of 7+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing processes, control systems, process equipment, facilities/utilities, and critical support systems essential.
  • Thorough knowledge of Maintenance execution strategies and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities.
