University Hospital Waterford seeks a skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to lead our respiratory services team. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to make a real difference in the lives of patients with lung cancer.
About the Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient care, ensuring that patients receive high-quality treatment and support throughout their journey. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate referrals, develop care plans, and provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage patient care, ensuring that patients receive high-quality treatment and support throughout their journey
- Coordinate referrals from general practitioners, radiology, emergency departments, and medical and surgical teams
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence and best practice
- Collaborate with service users, families, and carers to provide education and support
Required Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A relevant nursing qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Proven experience as a clinical nurse manager or similar role
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- A strong understanding of lung cancer care and current best practices
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
