Medical Care Specialist

Orchard Care Group is seeking a skilled medical care specialist to join our residential service in Sligo, Ireland. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to individuals with complex medical needs and disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver individualized care to each person we support, in accordance with their care plan and best clinical judgment.

Key responsibilities include assessing the needs of the people we support and developing a person-centered care plan, managing care assistants and supervising tasks, providing guidance, leadership, and training where required.

Maintaining accurate progress notes and sharing them with the next shift's nurse is also an essential part of this role.

Additionally, maintaining accurate medication cardex information is crucial for ensuring the highest standard of care.

The selected candidate will be required to demonstrate working knowledge of HIQA National Standards & Health Act Regulations for Residential Care Settings.

Proficient IT skills, high-level communication skills, and the ability to work well within a team are also essential requirements for this position.

Flexibility to work shifts rotations (12-hour shifts) including Days, Live Nights, Weekends, and access to own car is required.

Requirements:
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland in the RNID Division.
  • Working knowledge of HIQA National Standards & Health Act Regulations for Residential Care Settings.
  • Proficient IT skills, high-level communication skills, and ability to work well within a team.
