About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Research Co-ordinator.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day running of research programmes and partnerships across the Irish Cancer Society.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of new strategic research projects aimed at building capacity amongst the cancer research community.

About Our Research Programmes

We fund patient-focused cancer research from translational and clinical projects in areas such as early detection, novel cancer treatments and clinical trials.

Our research programme focuses on improving the lives of people affected by cancer in Ireland.

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with funded researchers, key members of the cancer research community and other relevant stakeholders
  • Interact with other funding agencies on joint funding arrangements and partnerships
  • Partner with other departments within the Irish Cancer Society to develop internal cancer research priorities
  • Coordinate the Irish Cancer Society Public and Patient partnership activities, to ensure the patient voice is embedded into our research processes

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Educated to PhD level or equivalent in health-based research*
  • Good knowledge of the research environment in Ireland including funding procedures and university processes
  • Experience of working on research projects involving patient-focused research is desirable
  • Experience with Patient and Public Involvement in research
