The Role

">

We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to play a critical role in evolving our reporting and analytics platform. This project involves rearchitecting our existing system to leverage a modern reporting paradigm and introduce technologies for scaling reporting to large data sets.

You'll design scalable data pipelines, implement pre-calculation strategies, and enable dynamic custom reporting capabilities for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain a reporting platform integrating high-volume database technologies and providing custom BI capabilities.">
  • Create data transformation pipelines to summarise and pre-calculate large volumes of data for efficient querying and reporting.">
  • Maintain robust testing and CI/CD pipelines, write high-quality and secure code, and implement QA best practices.">
  • Confidently debug and optimise complex issues across services, data pipelines, and the stack.">
  • Provide architectural direction, make pragmatic decisions on technical trade-offs, and mentor team members.">

Requirements

">

We're looking for someone with proven experience in designing and building reporting systems, including data pipelines, TSDB/OLAP, or similar architectures.

">

A strong track record in backend development, preferably in Ruby, but open to other languages with the ability to quickly learn new ones.

">

Familiarity with ETL pipelines, data modelling, and pre-aggregation techniques to handle large datasets.

">

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills across complex systems and services.

">

Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks to ensure reliable delivery of high-quality software.

">

Experience guiding technical projects, mentoring engineers, and collaborating across teams.

">

Additional Skills

Awsome experience with time-series databases or scalable analytics platforms.

">

Knowledge of business intelligence tools for custom report development.

">

Hands-on experience with Aws services for data processing and secure storage.
