Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Technician plays a pivotal role in maintaining product specifications, customer satisfaction, and ensuring the food safety, quality, and compliance of finished products within a manufacturing facility.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to maintain the food safety and quality of all finished products produced on shift, ensuring that HACCP is fully implemented and procedures are always adhered to.
  • Address non-conformances, coordinate with suppliers, and actively participate in audits.
  • Train personnel, handle non-conformances, and support Health & Safety initiatives as integral aspects of this position.
  • Ensure the food safety and quality of finished products meet agreed product specifications.
  • Responsible for ensuring all records are completed correctly on shift.
  • Responsible for ensuring plant hygiene meets and exceeds Department of Agriculture, BRC, and customer requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring the plant is cleaned to the correct standard after scheduled cleaning by performing visual checks, ATP swabbing, and micro swabbing.

Requirements
  • Hold a degree or equivalent in Food Science / Science / Quality / Nutritional disciplines.
  • HACCP Trained (desirable).
  • 1+ years' experience in Technical / Quality Assurance / Manufacturing / Laboratory roles, ideally dairy but may consider food or beverage.
  • Working knowledge of BRC (or equivalent) and retail standards in a production facility is desirable.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible and committed attitude with the ability to display initiative.
  • Able to work well individually and integrate with the operations team.
  • Proficient in IT, including strong Word, Excel, and database skills.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating shift pattern over both days and night.
