Trócaire is an International NGO working with local partners in at-risk communities and people in Ireland to tackle poverty, injustice, and crises. We work towards five goals: Promote Access to Justice, Achieve Climate & Environmental Justice, Ensure Women & Girls' Protection, Voice & Influence, Save Lives and Protect Human Dignity, and Mobilise the Public on the island of Ireland for Global Justice.

The role will report to the Climate Justice Manager and collaborate with Goal 2 colleagues. You will lead innovative interventions, drive evidence-based approaches to climate resilience, and identify strategic funding opportunities to amplify Trócaire's impact on climate and environmental justice and sustainable futures.

We are looking for someone with significant experience in Climate, agroecology, natural resource management, and inclusive market systems. You should have a proven track record in securing funding and flexibility to work in diverse and challenging contexts.

This is a 2-year fixed-term contract based in any Trócaire office in Ireland, UK, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, or Zimbabwe. The candidate must have existing right to live and work in the chosen location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead innovative programming that enhances programme impact, scales solutions addressing intersecting challenges of climate change, food insecurity, and inequality.
  • Work in collaboration with the global Programmes Team of Advisors, Goal 1 (human rights and access to justice) and Goal 3 (women's and girls' protection, voice, and leadership) colleagues.
  • Identify strategic funding opportunities to amplify Trócaire's impact on climate and environmental justice and sustainable futures.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in Climate, agroecology, natural resource management, and inclusive market systems.
  • Proven track record in securing funding.
  • Flexibility to work in diverse and challenging contexts.
