Job Overview

The Global General Ledger team at Cook Medical Incorporated is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and consistency of the company's financial records. The Senior Accountant will be accountable for multiple entities, including Cook France, and will play a key role in standardising, automating, and managing exceptions within the GL process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounting processes for multiple European and North American entities, including tasks such as working with local auditors, posting journal entries, analysing accounts, and preparing tax returns.
  • Manage projects and tasks within the General Ledger to improve processes and systems, including but not limited to Chart of Accounts, Fixed Assets, Accruals, Prepaids, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, External audit, and Coding.
  • Be responsible for project allocations of staff cost globally.
  • Collaborate with the Business Analysis team, Statutory team, and other finance teams to ensure accurate monthly and annual reporting.
  • Analyse GL entries and resolve root cause issues to ensure the General Ledger is Right First Time.
  • Develop and utilise GL reports through the SAP Business Intelligence system.
  • Provide training, support, and maintenance for the Chart of Accounts.
  • Support leadership in interpreting financial data, tracking financial/operational objectives, and facilitating the financial reporting, planning, and forecasting process.
  • Assist with other related finance tasks as required.
