Piping Design Lead Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Piping Design Lead to lead conceptual and detailed design projects for various pharmaceutical and biotech industries at IPS-Integrated Project Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design teams on assigned projects, collaborating with project managers and directors to achieve project success.
  • Contribute to the entire design process, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare piping and equipment arrangement drawings using 3D models and 2D layouts.
  • Select suitable piping components, consulting with equipment suppliers and vendors to obtain necessary information.
  • Produce piping plans, equipment layout, section layout, and other 2D drawings for deliverables.
  • Ensure correct documentation and coordination of work to reflect design intent.
  • Collaborate with related engineering disciplines to resolve clashes and apply comments.
  • You may contribute to annual performance reviews for assigned staff, if applicable, and provide developmental support.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must have 15 years of relevant design experience.
  • A technical or associate degree from an accredited institution in engineering design areas of mechanical is required.
  • Proven experience with piping design software, including Plant 3D, is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of GMP process and clean utility systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with generating piping isometric drawing production is essential.
  • Autodesk Navisworks experience is a plus, and BIM 360 knowledge would be beneficial.
