Derivatives Analyst

Job Summary

This role involves working for a global financial services company, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator and works well with partner areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently identifies and resolves transaction discrepancies between firm and swap counterparties.
  • Ensures timely receipt of electronic-based OTC confirmations from trading counterparties.
  • Reviews swap confirmations covering all OTC products.
  • Manages the settlement of swap cash flows associated with OTC products, including unwinds, quarterly fees, resets, upfront fees, coupons, and premiums.
  • Communicates effectively with both internal partners and clients, tailoring information to the audience as required.
  • Adhoc projects to meet and enhance client deliverables.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven team player, taking ownership for own role while contributing to wider team efforts.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures, familiar with financial markets and instruments and hedge fund structures.
  • Work experience in an operational role desirable. All other relevant experience taken into account.
  • Client service experience desired.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Excel.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or related subject.
