As a technical writer, you will collaborate closely with software engineers and project stakeholders to develop a content strategy that meets offline and online requirements.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts to identify gaps in existing content and develop plans for execution.
- Attend meetings to assess customer needs and define suitable content solutions.
- Create product documentation from scratch by understanding product workflows, collaborating with SMEs, or using engineering specifications.
- Determine appropriate format, structure, syntax, and style, ensuring compliance with legal guidelines.
- Utilize the latest authoring tools and content management systems to create, manage, and publish content.
- Collaborate with remote teams across different time zones.
- Gathering Requirements: Work with Subject Matter Experts to gather information on current documentation, including user guides, technical reference manuals, and getting started guides.
- Content Creation: Develop new documentation from scratch, leveraging your understanding of product workflows and collaboration with SMEs.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with software engineers, project stakeholders, and other teams to ensure seamless communication and effective documentation.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Technical Writing, Technical Communications, or a related field; or engineering degrees with excellent English skills.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in designing, writing, and publishing technical documentation for software products; web-based publishing experience is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in standard authoring tools and technologies, such as XML editors, HTML/CSS, and particularly rST/Sphinx workflow on GitHub; familiarity with DITA OT and content management systems is a plus.
