Job Description

As a senior engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe execution of lifting operations across various projects. This involves coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project goals while adhering to health and safety regulations.

You will be responsible for managing a team of localised APs to ensure the highest quality of lift planning, surveillance, and feedback. Assessment of lifting operations is crucial, and you must provide such planning, select cranes, lifting gear, and equipment necessary for the task to be undertaken safely.

Accurate weights, radii, heights, etc., must be established, and the ground made suitable for taking up loads to be imposed. Suitable access must be provided to sites and any areas required for crane erection and dismantling.

Adequate inspection and maintenance of equipment are essential, as well as effective procedures for reporting defects and incidents and taking corrective action. Hazards such as services above or below ground must be identified and suitable precautions taken.

The role requires strong communication skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, monitor project progress, and report to senior management. Compliance with health and safety regulations is paramount, and approval from 3rd parties must be obtained as appropriate.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proficiency in Autodesk BIM360 and Microsoft 365">
  • Experience in construction, preferably in data centres, semi-conductors, or pharma">
  • Ability to understand CAD drawings and TW awareness">
  • AP training and ability to write lift plans">
  • Strong knowledge of BS7121 and IS361">
