Specialist Anaesthetist

As a specialist anaesthetist, you will deliver exceptional care for elective and emergency surgeries at our esteemed healthcare facility in Galway, Ireland.

• Provide high-quality anaesthetic care, encompassing pre-operative assessment, intra-operative management, and post-operative care.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors, nurses, and anaesthesia technicians, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to emergencies, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and other departments to optimise patient outcomes, promoting seamless communication and coordination.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives, driving continuous enhancement of services.

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Holding specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
• Completion of Specialist Training in Anaesthesiology and possession of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years of post-registration experience in Anaesthesiology, coupled with a strong foundation in regional anaesthesia, pain management, and intensive care.
• Demonstrating excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care.
