Purchasing and Procurement Leader

The Purchasing and Procurement Leader will oversee a team of professionals in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Drive supplier performance, cost control, and inventory optimisation across the global supply chain.
  • Lead strategic supplier relationships worldwide, driving improved quality, cost reductions, and supply consistency.
  • Monitor and deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) on on-time delivery, supplier performance, stock levels, and cost savings.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing an operational purchasing team to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and components.
  • Implementing and overseeing supplier managed inventory (SMI) strategies with key vendors.
  • Identifying and delivering freight cost savings and stock reduction initiatives.
  • Overseeing purchase order creation, approvals, and compliance with company policy.
  • Maintaining and evolving procurement processes in line with ISO and quality management system (QMS) standards.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with production, engineering, and warehousing teams to ensure inventory accuracy and material availability.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' purchasing and procurement leadership experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proven track record in supplier management, cost reduction, and achieving performance targets.
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with experience negotiating international supplier agreements and logistics contracts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
