Urology Nurse Specialist

The role involves providing nursing support to educate and develop registered nurses, pre-registered nurses, and candidate nurses in urology and transplant services. They will review evidence-based best practices for nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop knowledge, interpretative, and decision-making skills for nurses to deliver safe and effective patient care.
- Encourage the adoption of evidence-based nursing practice through collaboration with all registered nurses.
- Support staff nurses assigned to a caseload of patients in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Provide training and support to staff nurses in the use of equipment and technical procedures.
- Design, implement, and evaluate staff orientation, clinical induction, and ongoing professional development programs for registered nurses.
- Participate in the development and implementation of postgraduate Renal Nursing Programs and Urology/Transplant modules.
- Assist in the development and updating of relevant policies and protocols.
- Statutory registration as a nurse or midwife is mandatory.
- At least 5 years' post-registration experience, with 2 years in the specialty or related area.
- Clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to discharge the functions of the role effectively.
- Continuous professional development is required.
