A highly skilled and experienced Pre-Construction Manager with a strong electrical background is required to lead and manage all aspects of the pre-construction process, including estimating, budgeting, design coordination, value engineering, and procurement strategies for electrical systems in large-scale construction projects.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Technical evaluation and assessment of electrical design drawings and specifications from RIBA Stage 4.
  • Confirmation of design compliance with industry and client standards.
  • Host Electrical Workshops to advance Design / Construction Issues.
  • Development of systemised cable matrix and construction work packs.
  • Knowledge and experience working with medium and low voltage networks, electrical switchgear, instrumentation and control systems, containment systems, life safety systems, security and access control, UPS systems, mechanical systems, emergency lighting, gas detection, data and IT, earthing and lightning protection, and cross-system electrical integration.
  • Design Alternatives: Offer cost-effective solutions that meet or exceed project requirements while reducing overall project costs.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks related to electrical systems and propose mitigation strategies early in the project lifecycle.
  • Procurement Strategies: Collaborate with specialist vendors for the procurement of equipment and services, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Client Communication: Regular communication with project clients during the pre-construction phase.
  • Scheduling & Timeline Development: Early input into schedule development in collaboration with project managers.
  • Compliance & Safety: Compliance with current local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Estimating & Budgeting: Communication of design changes with commercial implications to estimators and quantity surveyors.
