Job Details:This part-time role (22.5 hours per week) involves working as an Infant Health Screener in our partnership with Rotunda Hospital in Dublin 1.
Key responsibilities include creating a welcoming environment for parents and their babies, communicating effectively with parents, and conducting thorough hearing screenings.
Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of healthcare procedures, and the ability to work flexibly.
Responsibilities:- To create a supportive environment for parents and their babies, prioritizing their comfort and well-being.
- To provide clear and concise information to parents regarding hearing screening, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- To conduct accurate and reliable hearing screenings of newborn babies, adhering to established protocols.
- To inform parents of screening outcomes in accordance with Local and National Hearing Screening Programme guidelines.
- To maintain accurate records of clinical and test data, ensuring timely transfer to the manager.
- To respect patient confidentiality, maintaining their dignity and individuality at all times.
- To adhere to local child protection procedures and maintain awareness of potential risks.
- To stay informed about relevant procedures and policies, participating in ongoing training and development.
- To promptly report any equipment issues to the Hearing Screening Operational and Regional Coordinator.
- To contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in relevant software and systems.
- A healthcare background is highly advantageous.
