Job Opportunity: Environmental Sustainability Leader

This role presents an exciting chance to spearhead environmental health and safety initiatives across various operational sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing EHS strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a positive safety culture.

  • The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing EHS strategies that align with business objectives, while maintaining certified EHS systems and reporting to senior leadership.
  • They will also oversee systems and reporting for EHS compliance, including safety statements, incident investigations, audits, and risk assessments.
  • In addition, the individual will provide technical EHS support across operational sites, ensuring monitoring, sustainability compliance, and waste/water management are executed efficiently.

Requirements:

  • A minimum Level 8 qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental or an equivalent discipline.
  • Membership of IOSH.
  • At least 8-10 years of experience at senior management level in H&S or Environmental, with a proven track record of influencing senior and line management on EHS compliance.
  • Familiarity with EHS compliance associated with the development and operational management of large-scale energy infrastructure assets is essential.
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, inspire a culture of safety, and manage change effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Clear communication of complex EHS concepts to a wide audience, including senior leadership, regulatory bodies, and operational teams, is crucial.
  • Candidates should be capable of identifying long-term EHS risks and opportunities, with a solutions-focused approach to driving continuous improvement and compliance.
