Senior Management Position

The Senior Sector Manager role is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational management of adult intellectual disability services across multiple geographical areas.


This role involves leading a large team of staff, providing guidance on workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and staff development. The successful candidate will be able to provide strategic leadership, aligned with organizational values, and contribute to regional and national reforms.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement strategies for managing staff, developing new services, and improving operational efficiency.
    • Provide leadership that promotes employee engagement, inclusivity, and positive staff relations.
    • Represent the organization in public forums and community committees, maintaining transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Operational Management
    • Oversee service delivery across multiple service areas, ensuring effective coordination with internal support functions.
    • Manage referrals, waiting lists, and new service development in collaboration with relevant authorities.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead a team of staff through structured line management, promoting employee growth and development.
    • Support and supervise Area and Team Managers, ensuring effective senior management performance and team support.
  • Governance & Compliance
    • Ensure full regulatory compliance with relevant legislation, acting as Sector Complaints Officer and monitoring incidents.
    • Oversee audits, quality reviews, and participate in regional and national forums, representing the sector in compliance and governance matters.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build strong relationships with relevant authorities, advocacy groups, and educational bodies, promoting collaborative working practices.

Requirements
  • Relevant third-level qualification in Social Care, Healthcare, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years' post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years in senior management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in workforce strategy, operational governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience managing a large team of staff, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently, with a clean driving license and the use of one's own vehicle.
