We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including fabrication and general maintenance, as well as providing support for plant facilities and services.

This role is critical in maintaining optimum performance and ensuring compliance with relevant safety procedures, documentation, and training.

  • Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
  • Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Plan repair work using equipment manual as needed.
  • Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
  • Perform routine maintenance on building systems.
  • Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities.
  • Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Calibrate and test plant equipment, alarms, and instrumentation in accordance with CMMS, Vendor recommendations, and/or contractual requirements;
  • Liaise with sub-contractors to ensure maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and safe manner.
  • Respond to plant/equipment failures with plant repair or replacement as appropriate, and record completion of same with CMMS;
  • Identify and manage appropriate spares required to ensure reliability of plant operation;
  • Own permit to work system, general work permit, LOTO, hot works permit etc.
  • Use remote monitoring tools such as BMS to verify plant condition.
  • Be available for response to plant failures outside normal operation hours in accordance with roster for same, and general availability to assist in remote trouble shooting where appropriate;
  • Maintain high standards of quality and safety, adhering to all relevant legislation and company policies.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a multi-skilled / cross-skilled ethos.
  • Have previous experience in a facility maintenance environment.
  • Show some knowledge in maintenance and experience of supporting a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Be able to interact with suppliers, internal customers, and external contractors.
  • Be results-driven, with a continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Display excellent problem-solving & analytical ability.
  • Comply with regulations and guidelines.
  • Use computer skills effectively.
  • Work as part of a team, showing initiative and willingness to learn.
