Commercial Underwriting Lead

Our organization is seeking an experienced professional to lead a team in commercial underwriting, driving business growth and profitability across the commercial lines portfolio.

  • Underwrite complex commercial cases, leveraging technical expertise and analytical skills to inform decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, fostering new business opportunities and ensuring retention of existing clients.
  • Drive growth and profitability, aligning performance with strategic objectives and board expectations.
  • Oversee product development, pricing, and process improvements, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and capital provider guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in commercial underwriting management or a senior underwriting role, with a track record of delivering profitable results.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial property, liability, combined liability, and property owners products, with a strong understanding of their application and risk assessment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in building and maintaining effective broker relationships.
