We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity as a Strategic Procurement Specialist with our aviation client based in the Shannon region of Ireland. This role is being offered as a fixed-term contract with a highly competitive package for the right candidate.

About the Role

This dynamic and fast-paced industry requires a skilled procurement professional to source and order all non-aircraft materials and services, including:

  • Cleaning materials, abrasives, and consumables
  • Aircraft raw materials (metals, paints, adhesives, etc.)
  • Tooling, capital equipment, and MRO supplies
  • Workwear, PPE, office supplies, packaging, and IT materials

The successful candidate will ensure accurate placement of purchase orders with vendors, source and order commercial materials, services, and tooling for projects, process purchase requisitions, and manage vendor-managed inventory (VMI).

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate fixed-price agreements, discounts, and rebates with vendors
  • Maintain and monitor MRP, vendor performance, and supplier approvals
  • Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Work with Freight Forwarders to optimize transport costs and logistics
  • Coordinate with Finance to resolve invoice queries, returns, and credit notes
  • Monitor material changes in the market (obsolescence, shortages, regulations)
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative product solutions
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations for hazardous materials
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and manuals
  • Collaborate with internal departments on budgets and purchase approvals

The ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years' experience in purchasing/supply chain, ideally in aviation, with strong IT skills and experience with ERP systems. A qualification in IIPMM / APICS Purchasing, Logistics, or Supply Chain would be desirable. The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail is essential.
