About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Ecologist to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services across various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental consultancy, with experience in conducting site ecological surveys and fieldwork.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing individual contracts, providing specialist ecological advice, and preparing technical reports and project deliverables. You will also ensure quality control and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage individual contracts to ensure timely delivery of ecological consultancy services.
  • Provide specialist ecological advice across various projects.
  • Plan, conduct, and oversee site ecological surveys and fieldwork.
  • Prepare and supervise the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
  • Conduct Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), and other environmental reports.
  • Write detailed technical reports and project deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Degree in ecology or related discipline.
  • At least seven years of post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy.
  • Member of CIEEM, CIWEM, or comparable professional body.
  • Experienced in participating in oral hearing process and serving as an expert witness.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.
  • Proven experience in preparing and overseeing the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
  • Experienced in collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
