Water Network Improvement Specialist

As a specialist in water network improvements, you will oversee the management of projects to deliver new and upgrade water network infrastructure in the Cork region.

Due to ongoing contract awards, our firm has a requirement for an expert to work on water projects in the region. You should be able to demonstrate previous experience in either the design or construction of watermain upgrades and rehabilitation techniques, leakage repair etc.

  • Working alongside regional contractors to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with contracts and legislation.
  • Liaising with local authorities in delivering projects.
  • Carrying out health, safety, quality, and environment audits and managing related issues.
  • Processing work orders.
  • Service request approval.
  • Updating trackers.
  • Reviewing and approving as-laid drawings.
  • Working with IW design engineers to provide clarity on project delivery.
  • Handling complaints.
  • Providing feedback to regional leads and IW.
  • Attending and managing meetings with regional contractors and IW.
  • Maintaining records.
  • Creating lists of snags and signing off when complete.
  • Visiting sites before works commence to anticipate potential problems and feed back findings to IW design engineers.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • At least 5 years' satisfactory post-graduate experience in on-site supervision, site engineering of civil engineering works, including water projects.
  • A degree in a related discipline, such as civil engineering.
  • The ability to write clear and concise reports and maintain works records.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of health and safety procedures and regulations.
  • A current and valid SafePass card is essential; confined spaces training would be desirable.

You will also possess excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to act within a team at all times. With the nature of the role, there may be travel involved, so you should be flexible in terms of travel.
