Job Title: Senior Microbiology Laboratory Manager
We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to manage our diagnostic microbiology laboratory in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:- Laboratory Leadership: Coordinate the clinical microbiology diagnostic service with Consultant Microbiologists and Laboratory Management team to ensure patient results are delivered to the highest standard in a timely manner.
- Team Supervision: Lead the scientific staff within the department and ensure an appropriate skill mix in the laboratory to provide a safe and quality-focused service.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in the maintenance of the ISO quality management system to ensure safe patient care.
- Professional Development: Encourage professional development of staff through promoting self-learning, formal courses, or on-the-job training.
- Policies and Procedures: Develop, update and review policies, procedures and guidelines for the department.
- Result Analysis: Monitor and interpret quality, standards, accuracy of results and participate in troubleshooting to resolve abnormalities.
- A bachelor's degree (minimum QQI Level 8) allied to the field of clinical science and laboratory medicine.
- Eligibility for membership of the ACSLM. Previous experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory (at least 3 years) with 2 of those years in a senior role.
- Experience working in clinical microbiology and knowledge of ISO accreditation.
