About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Lead for Pharmacy Services to oversee the pharmacy departments at our dual-site hospital locations. As a key member of our team, you will lead on both clinical and strategic areas of pharmacy service, ensuring legislative, quality, and governance standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of a medicines management policy, advising hospital CEOs on consistency with relevant standards
  • Contribute to Clinical Governance at both hospitals, helping shape and contribute to drug-related policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with hospital pharmacy chiefs, nursing, medical, and financial colleagues on the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee, optimizing the use of medicines within local and nationally assigned budgets
  • Ensure a high standard of hospital pharmacy services aligned to best international practice, adopting national initiatives and guidelines to improve service delivery
  • Lead on the provision and development of clinical, aseptic compounding services, medicines information, and clinical decision support systems, promoting safe and cost-effective treatment for all

Requirements:

  • Holds a PSI-approved Pharmacy Qualification and is registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland
  • At least 7 years post-registration hospital experience, with management experience
  • Display evidence of personal professional development
