The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery and plant services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all production machinery and plant services.
  • Working with various electrical systems, including PLCs (Siemens/Allen Bradley), electrical cabinets, electrical containment, and sensors.
  • Utilizing testing equipment, de-bugging tools, and systems development techniques to ensure efficient operation of machinery and systems.
  • Participating in programming and systems development related to plant operations, including steam, air, and water systems.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with safety, GMP, and documentation standards.
  • Maintaining detailed maintenance records, job cards, and reports in line with company procedures.
  • Providing cover during Engineering staff holidays as required.
  • Collaborating with team members to improve processes and resolve equipment issues.

Required qualifications and skills include:

  • Qualified to Senior Trades level or comparable European NFQ qualifications in an Electro-Mechanical discipline.
  • FETAC Level 6 Accreditation, Solas apprenticeship, City & Guilds apprenticeship, or a similar qualification in an Electro-Mechanical field.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision.

Desirable qualifications and skills include:

  • Knowledge of controls, pneumatics, welding, and other relevant technologies.
  • Familiarity with safety standards, documentation, and GMP compliance.
  • Strong written and communication skills, with a focus on record-keeping and report writing.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team, offering support and cooperation to colleagues.
  • Basic PC literacy, with the ability to navigate and manage files.
  • Proactive in improving and developing multi-skilling abilities.
