The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality ecological consultancy services, providing expert ecological input for multiple projects, and overseeing the execution of site ecological surveys and fieldwork.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Manage individual contracts to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.
  2. Provide expert ecological input for projects across various sectors, including construction, development, and conservation.
  3. Plan, conduct, and supervise site ecological surveys and fieldwork operations to inform environmental assessments and impact statements.
  4. Prepare and monitor the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans to minimize environmental impacts.
  5. Conduct Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EIA), and other environmental reporting requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  6. Write technical reports and deliverables that meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  7. Manage quality assurance processes to maintain the highest standards of work produced by the Ecology Team.
  8. Participate as an expert witness in oral hearings to provide authoritative testimony.
  9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Requirements:
  • A degree in ecology or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy.
  • Membership in professional bodies such as CIEEM, CIWEM, or equivalent.
  • Experience in oral hearings and expert witness roles.
  • Detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation within Ireland.
  • Excellent technical report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing and monitoring the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans.
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and project management skills.
  • A full clean driving license.
