Home Care Assistant Required

We are seeking a Home Care Assistant to provide person-centred care to individuals with dementia in their own homes.

The successful candidate will work 15 hours per week, providing support and companionship to our clients. This is a permanent contract involving working in assigned family homes in Wicklow and the surrounding area.

As a Home Care Assistant, you will require good communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work independently. Previous experience of undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activities with people with dementia, older adults, or those with intellectual disabilities is essential.

Candidates must possess a full clean driving licence and access to a car. A FETAC level 5 qualification is desirable, as is confidence in using IT/Email. Training in PPE/infection control and other relevant areas will be provided prior to the role holder entering a client's home.

The role holder must adhere to National Guidelines and maintain COVID awareness at all times. The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all staff and service users.
