Job Title: Senior Digital Design Engineer

Role Overview:

Our client requires a Senior Digital Design Engineer for a role based in Cork City, Ireland. The successful candidate will be onsite for 4 days per week.

The SerDes PHY team based at our R&D center of excellence in Cork designs products for communication protocols such as PCIe and UCIe. As part of the PCS design team, you will work on leading edge technology nodes (e.g. 3nm) and high-speed SERDES products at data rates up to and exceeding 112 Gbps.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design High Speed SERDES products at data rates up to and exceeding 112 Gbps on leading edge technology nodes
2. Participate in architecture & implementation of high-speed communication protocols (PCIe, UCIe)
3. Design and development of digital IC circuit blocks from initial concept/specification through final verification of conformance to customer specifications
4. Work with cross-functional teams ranging from architecture, all aspects of circuit design, Layout development, RTL design & Validation, Physical design & Test chip development
5. Work with Technical Team Leads in the areas of digital design, verification and SERDES architectures
6. Collaborate with global teams across different time-zones

Requirements:

- BEng, MEng or PhD degree in Electronics Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in CMOS SERDES or high-speed I/O IC design and development
- Working knowledge of common SERDES standards is desirable
- Prior experience in RTL design & synthesis is expected
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
