Hair Stylist

Volunteer Hairdresser Role: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate hair stylist to join our team at Jane's Place. As a volunteer hairdresser, you will play a vital role in enhancing the self-esteem and overall well-being of our female clients.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified hairstylist with excellent communication skills and a patient demeanor. You will work closely with our team to provide high-quality hair care services, ensuring that each client feels valued and respected.

Job Description:

This is an opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of women who have experienced addiction and homelessness. Our center provides a safe and welcoming environment where women can access various supports, including 1:1 key-working support, counseling, psycho-educational groups, and holistic therapies.

As a volunteer hairdresser, your primary responsibility will be to manage the salon during your volunteer times, chat with clients, wash, cut, and style hair, as well as offer hair care advice.

You will also engage with our clients in a supportive manner, maintain high personal hygiene standards, comply with health and safety regulations, adhere to all necessary training, report faulty equipment, and participate as a team member.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Qualified Hairstylist or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and empathetic approach when working with clients.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Additional Information:

Our service is open Monday to Friday, and we require volunteers to commit to a minimum of 12 months. All volunteers will undergo Garda clearance and produce two references.
