We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to lead the delivery of EIAR and AA/NIS documentation for large-scale development projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile renewable energy infrastructure projects and contribute to the company's success in this field.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the EIA process for large-scale Renewable Energy Projects, including the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and Appropriate Assessments.
- Providing environmental expertise to support the Planning Team and inform business strategy to ensure compliance with planning and environmental issues.
- Staying up-to-date with changes in planning and environmental legislation, policy decisions, and updates to national, regional, and local authority development plans.
- Contributing to company submissions as required.
- Assisting the Stakeholder and Advocacy team with the development of effective project plans for communications and consultation with local communities and other stakeholders.
- Preparing specifications for third-party services and assisting with procurement processes.
- E nsuring all work complies with Health & Safety and Environmental policies and relevant EU and National policies and statutory requirements.
- Assisting with the upskilling and mentoring of junior staff.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Hons Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent; Post Graduate qualification desirable but not essential.
- Minimum 5 years' experience leading the preparation of EIAR and AA/NIS for large-scale projects.
- Expertise in leading the delivery of EIS/EIAR and AA/NIS documentation for large-scale development projects.
- Understanding of the EIA process and Irish planning policy and legislation.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They will also have a strong understanding of environmental policies and legislation, particularly in relation to renewable energy infrastructure projects.
