
Dublin City Council Fire Prevention Officer

This role is responsible for ensuring fire safety in buildings and other structures within Dublin City Council.
Main Responsibilities:- Implementing fire safety measures, including inspections and enforcement of regulations
- Liaising with departments and local authorities on fire prevention matters
- Development and management of staff, including performance monitoring and disciplinary procedures
- Recognised degree in engineering or architecture, or equivalent qualification
- At least five years satisfactory experience in fire-fighting techniques, fire resistance of buildings, hydraulics, water supplies, design and construction of buildings, or technological/industrial processes
- High standard of technical training and awareness of Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
Work Environment:The Fire Prevention Section works closely with other departments within Dublin City Council. The successful candidate may be required to attend court, give evidence, and participate in inspections and investigations.
Key Requirements:- Current unendorsed full driving licence (Category A1, A, and/or B)
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
