Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist in Oncology Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our team at St. James Hospital. As a CNS, you will play a vital role in delivering specialist nursing care to patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to lead our SACT nursing team. You will be responsible for organizing and managing care to ensure it is delivered in a safe, seamless, patient-centered, and timely manner. Your expertise will enable you to provide high-quality care and support to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing knowledge, skills, and care to patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapy
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless care
- Organize and manage care to ensure timely and safe delivery
- Participate in nurse-led clinics, research, audit, and education initiatives
- Demonstrate continuing professional development relevant to specialist practice
Requirements
- Be a registered nurse/midwife on the active register of nurses and midwives held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be eligible to be so registered
- Have a minimum of 1 year's post-registration full-time experience in the division of the register in which the application is being made
- Possess a Level 9 or higher award relevant to the specialist area of care, as verified by the education provider
- Demonstrate continuing professional development relevant to specialist practice
Desirable Qualifications
- Nurse prescribing registration or willingness to undertake within an agreed timeframe
- Experience in teaching and assessing junior staff/nursing students
- Competent in SACT administration and PICC line insertion
- Working knowledge of healthcare patient record systems
