Director | Supply Chain & Procurement at Sanderson

This role involves being a key member of a public sector procurement team who are very supportive. You will be responsible for strategic procurement, negotiation, and sourcing of goods and services for the company.

You will ideally have:

  • A minimum level 6 qualification in Public Procurement with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Public Procurement.
  • Experience in tendering in the utilities sector under EU directive 2014/25/EU is desirable.
  • Responsibility for RFXs and contract management of goods and services for the company.
  • Experience in tendering procedures such as Frameworks, Qualification systems, Dynamic Purchasing Systems, Competitive Dialogue, and the Negotiated procedure.

Role/Considerations:

  • Run tender process in line with EU Directives.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve value for money through tendering.
  • Ensure timely and efficient awarding of contracts.
  • Run RFQs and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
  • Responsibility for review and management of contracts.

The successful candidate will develop a contract management plan for contracts.

  • Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers and end users.
  • Ensure terms and conditions of contracts are adhered throughout the contract period.
  • Track actual spends and highlight variance in budget and actual spend.
  • Develop relevant KPIs for analysis of costs and supplier performance.
  • Periodic review of costs for accuracy.
  • Consider automation of processes where possible.

Skills and Knowledge required for this role:

  • Qualification in Public Procurement, minimum requirement is level 6.
  • Minimum of 3/4 years' experience in Public Procurement.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Desired knowledge and hands-on usage of SAP and Coupa welcomed.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Commercial and business awareness.
