About the Role

Key Aspects:

  • This position involves underwriting Financial Lines Insurance products for Irish companies.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 6 underwriters.
  • The role includes:
  • Underwriting renewal business in accordance with standard procedures
  • Acquiring new business to meet set targets
  • Maintaining budgeted renewal retention rates
  • Cross-selling other financial lines products where applicable
  • Developing relationships with brokers
  • Addressing technical queries from brokers
  • Staying updated on market developments and contributing to product creation/refinement

Requirements:

  • Multiple years of experience in Financial Lines Underwriting, preferably in Management Liability and Financial Institutions
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including managing a team
  • ACII qualification or progress towards it
  • Minimum 2:1 Degree in a relevant business discipline
  • Strong numeracy skills, data analysis capabilities, and technical expertise
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good leadership qualities and an ethical approach to business
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and make timely decisions
