Own Brand Product Technologist


This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability. As an Own Brand Product Technologist, you will join a dynamic own brand team developing food and non-food products across a wide range of categories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure all own-brand products meet agreed specifications and quality standards for both product and packaging.
  • Ensure full compliance with legislation and internal policies throughout all stages of product development.
  • Manage and maintain online product specifications to ensure all products are fully approved before launch.
  • Follow the stage gate process to deliver efficient, structured product development.
  • Conduct regular market benchmarking to identify opportunities for product or process improvements.
  • Support suppliers and product developers to implement best-in-class sustainable packaging solutions in line with environmental targets.
  • Maintain close communication with the Quality department regarding supplier audits and managing any technical issues effectively
  • Buid and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Understand business priorities and contribute to delivering quality products at the lowest possible cost.

Required Skills and Qualifications

About You:

  • Third-level degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Business, or a similar relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the FMCG sector/food manufacturing environment in a transferable role such as Development, Quality, or Technical.
  • Experience completing retailer specifications using computerised systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of legal labelling and label approvals.
  • Strong project management, organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
