Research Scientist Opportunity in Polymer Transfection Reagent Development

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our team in the development of next-generation hyperbranched poly(β-amino ester) (HPAE) transfection reagents. This is a 24-month temporary position within the UCD School of Medicine.
About the ProjectThe successful candidate will work on advancing the manufacturing process of HPAE transfection reagents for efficient, large-scale production of viral vectors. Our goal is to improve the quality control and reduce post-production waste while maintaining high-performance levels.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our dynamic research team in the Charles Institute of Dermatology and Branca Bunús Ltd. to advance the project.
- Develop and implement novel methods for polymer synthesis and characterization.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure consistent quality and efficiency throughout the production process.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A PhD in a relevant field, such as polymer chemistry or molecular biology.
- Significant experience in laboratory research, preferably in a related field.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and software.

Eligibility CriteriaPlease note that this position is intended for researchers who have completed their postdoctoral training at PD1 level. If you have already completed your PD2 stage or will soon do so, or if your total Postdoctoral experience would exceed 6 years, you should not apply and refer to Research Fellow posts instead.
