About the Role
We are looking for a skilled casualty insurance underwriter to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in casualty insurance and excellent communication skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Rapidly evaluate, prioritize, and select submissions for underwriting.
- Recognize and create opportunities for cross-selling AIG products.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with brokers and clients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to grow the book of business.
- Work with managers to develop individual business plans aligned with product strategies.
- Maintain risk selection in adherence with product guidelines and achieve rate, renewal retention, and new business goals.
- Provide mentoring and training to less-experienced underwriters.
- Offer superior customer service to brokers and clients.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Significant experience in casualty insurance, preferably in a company, agency, or brokerage.
- Experience writing captive risks or large SIR accounts is a plus.
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with colleagues to deliver solutions.
- Comfortable using analytical tools and technology.
- Proficient in Word and Excel.
