We are seeking a highly skilled NEC 3 Contract Administrator for Railways to join our team and contribute to our success.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing high-value contracts, leading commercial strategy and governance, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial and contractual compliance.

This is a key position within a multidisciplinary project team, requiring a strong commercial acumen, proven leadership, and the ability to drive value-driven decision-making in a complex contractual environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the client in the management of contractual claims, variations, and other changes.
  • Review, verification, and recommendation of payment applications, in accordance with contract terms and local regulations.
  • Development and implementation of processes and procedures to ensure timely and accurate certification of payments.
  • Use of cloud-based software to manage contract administration.
  • Development of pro-forma documents for contract administration.
  • Implementation of compensation event procedures in line with the contract.
  • Understanding of contractor's cost system and accounting procedures.
  • Establishing rules of Defined Cost for audit strategy.
  • Assessing Price for Work Done to Date (PWDD).
  • Forecasting total defined Cost at regular intervals.
  • Certification of payments, assessing contractor's share, auditing records as necessary.
  • Forensic Account Management, Open Book Auditing, Cost/Value Reconciliation, and Cost Control.
  • Resolving issues or disputes in a timely manner.
  • Advising on and monitoring contractor performance in Contract Administration and Claims Management.
  • Supporting project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Contribute to risk identification and mitigation, focusing on minimizing delays and cost overruns.
  • Participating in bid preparation and submission, ensuring compliance with specifications and enhancing win potential.
  • Developing and managing project schedules, critical path methodologies, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors to maintain clear alignment and communication.
