Key to Operational Excellence: Shift Supervisor Role
Job Description:The successful candidate will oversee the smooth operation of production machinery, ensuring high-quality output and meeting production targets.
Responsibilities:- Ensure production meets quality standards and specifications
- Maximise production output while maintaining product quality
- Perform mould changeovers, machine maintenance, breakdown repairs, fault-finding, and process optimisation
- Supervise, train, and motivate operatives to achieve high performance standards. Maintain training records and provide refresher training as required
- Conduct performance appraisals and manage staff fairly, referring disciplinary matters to management when necessary
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, cleanroom procedures, and hygiene regulations
- Promote a safe work environment, deliver safety training, and ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations
- Plan and organise production to meet targets in a cost-effective and efficient manner, ensuring accurate and timely documentation
- Monitor and review product quality, production output, reject rates, non-conforming product, and operator performance
- Ensure sufficient raw materials are available throughout the shift and for handover to the next shift
- Technical background, preferably a qualified fitter or mechanic
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
- Injection moulding experience is highly desirable
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
