About Our Machine Learning Team

We're seeking a seasoned Software Engineer to join our AI/ML Platform team, dedicated to crafting the PlayStation experience for millions of users.

The work we do delivers insightful solutions to build an increasingly dynamic and interactive experience. The AI/ML Engineering Group optimizes interactions across PlayStation experiences and systems by designing, coding, training, documenting, cost-effectively deploying, and evaluating large-scale machine learning systems.

You'll collaborate with teams across Engineering, Security, Architecture, and Product in an agile environment. You'll be immersed in AI/ML technologies, tools, and processes, helping advance our technical objectives and architectural initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, support, and optimize performance and costs across several ML platform components and services
  • Design integration patterns for seamlessly incorporating new components into the ML platform
  • Support planning and estimation of work requirements for delivering new ML platform capabilities
  • Establish and maintain security, compliance, and governance standards for the ML platform
  • Design comprehensive monitoring, observability, and alerting systems for understanding ML platform health
  • Collaborate with ML engineering teams to support productionizing ML models and experiments
  • Ensure ML platform scalability and reliability to support growing ML workloads
  • Support the professional growth and development of junior engineers

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure roles in the AI/ML space
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • Strong proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Java, Scala, or Go
  • Experience with cloud and container technologies (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD, etc.) and how they enable MLOps best practices
  • Experience working with distributed systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and exposure in the past to various ML platforms, spanning across production and research needs
  • Experience with Databricks, Tecton, and Seldon
  • Experience with GPU accelerated high performance compute utilizing Run.ai for orchestrating and managing AI workloads
  • Deployed and supported online services with high RPS and low latency requirements
