The ERC PatentsInHumans project is a 5-year European Research Council Starting Grant funded project that seeks to develop a deeper understanding of the bioethical implications of patents over health-technologies. As a Research Fellow, you will play a key role in this project, working closely with Prof Aisling McMahon to conduct empirical research and gather insights from experts and stakeholders.
The project aims to bridge the disconnect between patent law and bioethics, exploring how patents are used over health-technologies and their impact on how we treat, use, and modify the human body. You will contribute to the development of a deeper understanding of these issues and help inform decision-making systems in Europe.
The role involves conducting semi-structured interviews and focus groups, analysing data, and contributing to project deliverables and publications. You will also support the Principal Investigator in carrying out other research tasks related to the project.
